PROGRAM INFORMATION
This program prepares international graduates for an exciting career in the field of hospitality management in Canada. Students develop the specialized skills, industry specific knowledge and customer service-based abilities required to start or further their careers in the food and beverage or accommodations sector of the tourism industry.
Through in-class instruction and applied learning, students will gain an understanding of key concepts and performance standards to develop, operate and supervise hospitality operations. The program has one mandatory co-op work experience in the third term and a second optional co-op work experience in the fifth term. The co-op work experience allows students to apply learning, gain practical experience, network and in many cases create opportunities for career pathways.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
A college diploma or university degree.
GRADUATION & PROGRESSION REQUIREMENTS
In order to graduate from a program, the College requires that a student:
i. achieve a GPA of 2.00 or greater
ii. successfully complete all courses in the program curriculum
iii. successful completion of the mandatory co-operative work term

ACCREDITATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS
Students in the Hospitality Management program will be given the opportunity to achieve nationally recognized certifications:
- SmartServe Ontario – responsible beverage service
– TrainCan. fst – food safety program
The test fees for these certificates are not included in the program tuition. Students are required to pay for these fees separately (approximately $75).
Other industry skill sets include Train the Trainer, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates of this program will have the skills and knowledge required to assume front-line and supervisory positions in the hospitality industry including: resort/hotel sales, convention centre services, food and beverage establishments, festival/special event management, tourism bureaus, meeting/facility planning and administration.
